Oakland, California-based architecture and design studio Arcsine has unveiled BE.STÉAK.Ă—its latest restaurant project in Campbell, California. The Italian steakhouse concept evokes an elegant-yet-approachable aesthetic expressed through the juxtaposition of raw and refined elements, as well as textural focal points. “Working closely with chef Jeffery Stout to create BE.STÉAK.Ă and bring his vision for the restaurant to life was a delight,” says Arcsine cofounder Adam Winig. “The design and cuisine meld flawlessly, a result of the significant detail and thought put into the space from day one, by all parties. This was, by definition, an extremely collaborative solution.”
Colorways vary throughout the 185-seat space, although it’s anchored by white, blue, charcoal gray, copper, and terracotta hues inspired by a neutral Italian coastal palette. Walnut accents and the dining room’s dark-toned wood ceiling infuse warmth into the scheme. A terracotta feature wall punctuates the room, which is flanked by the bar area. Grand but intimate, the bar features a series of arches, enclaves, and wall cutouts that recall the coziness of traditional steakhouse booths. Pendant lights are installed upon custom tilework, while quartz-based marble tops the walnut-paneled bar. Outside, two patios span the perimeter of the exterior, populated with custom banquettes and an outdoor fireplace illuminated by overhead string lights.
