Restaurateur and Neighborhood Projects founder Matthew Abramcyk has teamed up with chef Doug Brixton to launch the Golden Swan. Serving French-Mediterranean cuisine, the restaurant occupies a two-story townhouse in New York’s West Village neighborhood that was previously home to the Spotted Pig gastropub.
To bring the new concept to life, Abramcyk tapped BWArchitects to craft timeless yet contemporary interiors that conjure a sense of nostalgia. The Wallace Room, located on the ground floor, is an intimate, window-wrapped space that features green Moroccan tile and gold velvet curtains.
Upstairs, the second-floor dining room and separate private dining areas are characterized by a warm palette of golden hues, including banquettes upholstered in checkered velvet. Abramcyk personally sourced the reclaimed barn wood from Lancaster, Pennsylvania that is laid across the uppermost floor, which also showcases the 19th-century building’s original coffered and beamed ceiling.
