Restaurant group Quality Branded has unveiled Twin Tails, a celebration of Southeast Asia’s diverse flavors, in New York.
Designed by AvroKO, Twin Tails’ interiors take note from Asian restaurants found across New York in the 1980s, as well as the art scene that ran parallel to them.
A retro-futuristic design concept employs sleek finishes synonymous with the ‘80s, such as burl wood, pink and amber mirrors, marble, and glossy paint sheens. These elements are contrasted against raw materials like terracotta and rattan.
Throughout the space, works by contemporary artists Jordy Kerwick and Melissa Monroe evoke the decade’s neo-expressionism characteristic. Figurations and patterns extend from artwork onto furniture and light fixtures, tying together a tribute to the era.
Twin Tails is located inside the Shops at Columbus Circle mall, adjacent to sister restaurant Bad Roman.
