Fabric Innovations, a supplier of bedding, drapery, and custom fabrics to the hospitality industry, recently earned the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certification as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE). The certification is nationally accepted by thousands of major corporations, as well as government entities seeking to work with women-owned businesses.
“Receiving this certification opens many doors for us as a company,” says Deborah Herman, president and CEO of Fabric Innovations. “It provides us with unprecedented access to supplier diversity and procurement executives, which is crucial to continuing to grow our business in the highly competitive hospitality arena.”
The stringent certification process involves both a rigorous review of formal documentation and a site visit to ensure that candidate companies meet the requirement of being 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. To ensure adherence to the high standards of the program, companies must apply for re-certification each year.
