Miami’s beloved Fooq’s has officially reopened its doors, reimagined as a sweeping all-day dining destination in the city’s Little River neighborhood.
Led by brothers David and Joshua Foulquier—known for Eleventh Street Pizza in Miami, as well as Chez Fifi and Sushi Noz in New York—the new 14,000-square-foot venue was designed in collaboration with Stockholm-based Joyn Studio.
Rooted in the Foulquiers’ Iranian and French backgrounds, the design balances rustic warmth with a quiet elegance, offering a space that naturally shifts from relaxed lunches to lively, late-night gatherings.
A layered arrival experience
The design unfolds the moment guests step inside, through an intimate entrance bar before moving through a transitional wine corridor. Lined with illuminated chillers and two dry agers, this quiet threshold gives way to the social heart of the restaurant: a double-height main dining room defined by soft lighting, an open kitchen, and abundant greenery.
Just beyond the dining room, an outdoor patio nearly equals the interior footprint in size. Shaded and garden-like during the day, the alfresco space transitions into an energetic hub as the night goes on, serving as an overflow area for late-night guests or a backdrop for large-format events.
The Lion’s Den above Fooq’s
Upstairs, the venue introduces the Lion’s Den, a dedicated late-night space that comes to life after dark. Shaped by music and conversation, this intimate enclave features low lighting, deep seating, and warm wood tones, offering a distinct sense of privacy away from the bustling main floor.
A grounded vision by Joyn Studio
Joyn Studio—who previously collaborated with the brothers on Chez Fifi—anchored the property in a palette of deep reds and soft neutrals. These warm tones and subtle textures are grounded by natural materials and vibrant plantings that soften the architecture and bring a sense of ease to the atmosphere.
