Sustainable luxury brand 1 Hotels, part of the SH Hotels & Resorts portfolio, is expected to inaugurate a trio of properties across the globe next year.
1 Hotel Melbourne
Slated to open in March 2025, 1 Hotel Melbourne will mark the brand’s debut in Australia. The property, situated on the Yarra River, will offer 277 guestrooms and 114 branded residences. Its biophilic design will showcase reclaimed timber from the site’s heritage wharf and rail bridges, capturing Melbourne’s natural charm, inspired by Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges, Great Otway National Park, and the Yarra River. Amenities will include several dining options, a waterfront lobby bar, Bamford Wellness Spa, an indoor pool, and access to a spacious public park.
1 Hotel Copenhagen
Opening next summer, 1 Hotel Copenhagen will be located at the junction of the city’s Latin Quarter and historic district. The 282-room property, which includes 30 suites, will feature a locally sourced, seasonal restaurant and lobby bar, as well as a Bamford Wellness Spa. In line with 1 Hotels’ sustainable ethos, the hotel will house an urban garden and bee hotel onsite.
1 Hotel Seattle
The former Pan Pacific Hotel in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood will transform into 1 Hotel Seattle before the close of 2025. Overlooking the Space Needle, the 153-room property will celebrate the Pacific Northwest’s natural beauty. The lobby, for instance, will feature a living wall of greenery and a stairway of reclaimed timber and stone. Rooms and suites will boast finishes of reclaimed wood, stone-clad millwork, live-edge furniture, and moss art, while corridors will evoke rustic elegance through curated plantings that highlight the region’s forests.
