Starwood has opened Aloft Raleigh—its first Aloft-branded property in Raleigh, North Carolina, and fifth in the state.
The property is owned by a joint venture between the Bernstein Companies and Bell View Founders.
Located across the street from North Carolina State University’s (NC State) Memorial Belltower, Aloft Raleigh is nearby the North Carolina State Capitol building, the Raleigh Convention Center, and Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
With interiors by Texan firm One Group Design, the 135-room hotel boasts loft-like accommodations, along with a ground floor arrival lobby with an art gallery wall that is connected to the second floor lobby via a grand glass staircase. An outdoor terrace also on the second floor offers views of the NC State campus and downtown Raleigh, and a dramatic 55-foot-tall sculpture by local artist Thomas Sayre.
“Aloft Raleigh brings together public art with cutting-edge design to provide visitors with an inspiring entrance to the NC State campus,” says Davin Driskill, vice president of the Bernstein Companies’ hotel division. “The new Aloft also marks an important step forward in the redevelopment of Hillsborough Street.”
Amenities include an outdoor pool, a gym, 1,600 square feet of meeting space, the brand’s signature W XYZ bar, as well as the street-level Gonza Tacos Y Tequila and Jubala Village Coffee F&B outlets.
