The Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills has emerged from the first phase of a redesign led by London-based David Collins Studio. The update pays homage to Old Hollywood with luxe materials and modernist details.
“The Beverly Wilshire is landmark hotel, with a variety of guestroom styles that have evolved over many eras. The vision created by David Collins Studio and Four Seasons brings the guest suites in line with the brand, the location, and the level of luxury expected from the hotel’s guests,” says Simon Rawlings, creative director at David Collins. “Subtle modernity, crafted layering, and subdued softness combine with Beverly Hills chic and touches of Hollywood glamour to create a completely new experience, and one which unifies the design across all wings of the property.”
Upgraded accommodations nod to the work of late British interior designer Syrie Maugham as well as Art Deco influences of the 1920s and ’30s. Ivory and silver wallcoverings featuring distressed horizontal stripes are framed by gunmetal gray skirting, while marble, lacquered, and stained timber and mirrored surfaces embody refined elegance and comfort.
Asymmetrical yet balanced, the chambers are populated with a range of custom furniture, including velvet sofas, leather stools, ceramic lamps, and a medley of upholstered seating options. Integrated lighting and a painted finish elevate built-in wardrobes as well. “It is a great honor to be tasked with this challenge, and as part of the visionary team of owners, operators, and creatives, we have a reinvented the Beverly Wilshire with a view to it creating new memories and stories for its guests for many years to come,” Rawlings adds.
