Hotel brand citizenM has debuted its second Bay Area property, citizenM Menlo Park. Nestled on the campus of global tech company Meta (formerly Facebook), the location aligns with citizenM’s growing portfolio of tech-savvy, design-centric hotel properties.
Designed by the brand’s longstanding collaborator, Concrete, in collaboration with local firm Baskervill, citizenM Menlo Park is a high-tech hotel that utilizes sustainable modular construction systems and showcases contemporary art and designer furniture.
The five-story, 79,400-square-foot hotel features 240 guestrooms, along with an indoor-outdoor lobby, a state-of-the-art gym, the 24/7 canteenM, SocietyM meeting rooms, and a patio with a permanent food truck.
The hotel integrates luxurious and modular rooms into its design, reducing construction waste by up to 60 percent. Plus, the property prioritizes energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction, and is working towards securing LEED Gold certification.
citizenM Menlo Park’s façade is enlived thanks to a mural by Oakland-based artist Alexandra Bowman that draws inspiration from Menlo Park’s diverse community and wildlife sanctuary. Meanwhile, a wallcovering by Bay Area-based ceramicist and painter Woody De Othello that depicts the passage of time dons the lobby.
“We are thrilled to be opening up in Menlo Park, as this city has become one of the country’s largest tech hubs,” says Robin Chadha, citizenM’s chief brand officer. “citizenM has always been designed to bridge remote and in-person work with private nooks and work options in our living rooms and societyM meeting rooms. This dynamic property will offer something completely unique to anything else in the area for Meta employees and mobile citizens alike.”
