Ahead of five openings in 2023, EDITION Hotels has revealed plans to double its global footprint—bringing it to a total of 30 units—by 2027. This will include debuts in Italy and Mexico, as well as a greater investment in Middle Eastern and Asian markets.
“EDITION’s rapid hotel growth and the interest from the development community to build standalone residences clearly illustrates the strength of the brand. Extending our luxury lifestyle hospitality brand into the standalone residential arena provides our most loyal guests an opportunity to literally live the EDITION lifestyle without leaving home,” says Josh Fluhr, senior vice president and global marketing director for EDITION. “By the end of 2023, we expect that EDITION will operate in 20 destinations as we add hotels in new and existing markets across three continents, while continuing to build a robust pipeline.”
Housed within a historical building designed by Cesare Pascoletti and Marcello Piacentini, the Rome EDITION will mark the brand’s debut in Italy in spring 2023. The 93-room urban retreat will be home to locally inspired F&B options, such as a signature restaurant attached to an alfresco space; the Punch Room bar; and a rooftop terrace overlooking the city. Flexible indoor-outdoor event spaces, a spacious gym, two-room spa, and rooftop pool will also be featured onsite.
Summer 2023 will kick off with the opening of the Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai, the brand’s first Mexican property. A key fixture of the upscale Kanai development, the 180-room concept will tout six F&B options, expansive indoor-outdoor meeting and event spaces, and pristine Caribbean beachfront.
The Jeddah EDITION, also anticipated to open in summer 2023, will be the brand’s third Middle Eastern hotel, positioned along the Jeddah Corniche. The 63-room property will offer a signature restaurant, lobby lounge, an intimate bar, activated rooftop, and pool.
EDITION will also introduce its second Japanese hotel next summer with the Tokyo EDITION, Ginza. The forthcoming new-build on bustling Chuo Street will be home to 78 guestrooms and suites, three F&B destinations, a meeting studio, and fitness center.
Finally, fall 2023 will herald the Singapore EDITION, the brand’s maiden hotel in Southeast Asia. The 190-room retreat will debut in the downtown Orchard district, housing five restaurants and bars, a rooftop pool, spa, fitness center, and more than 6,400 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting and event space.
