Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has launched the Kimpton BEM Budapest in Hungary.
Occupying a transformed 19th-century mansion, the hotel stands as a sophisticated 127-room enclave nestled along the banks of the Danube river.
The design of Kimptom BEM Budapest
Crafted by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, Kimpton BEM Budapest celebrates both Hungarian folklore and the city’s modern vitality.
Guests are greeted by reception desks shaped as upside-down eggs complemented by decorative books, collectibles, and treasures from around the globe.
Patterns throughout the hotel pay homage to Hungarian mythological creatures and native flora, such as illustrations of poppies and tulips. A serene palette of cool colors is contrasted by striking elements such as a central glass atrium housing a folkloric Golden Stag, concave ceilings, and lush greenery, transporting visitors to a fairy tale-like realm.
Inside the guestrooms
The hotel features 127 guestrooms, including 11 suites. The Cosmos and Observatory Suites—which can be adjoined for 1,290-square-feet of space—are each complete with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining room, and kitchenette. The Observatory Suite boasts a 883-square-foot private furnished rooftop terrace.
Accompanying the accommodations are three distinct dining venues, like signature restaurant AGOS, verdant rooftop bar Fennen, and the all-day Bar Huso.
Kimpton BEM Budapest also houses a range of event venues, along with a dedicated wellness area complete with a 24/7 fitness center, hot tub, and steam room.
