The expansive Nemacolin resort—located in the picturesque Laurel Highlands of Farmington, Pennsylvania—has reimagined the Chateau (one of the property’s five distinct hotels).
Known for its Ritz Paris-inspired design, the redesigned hotel debuts along with additional property renovations including Nightcap lounge, PJ’s Ice Cream Parlor, art studios, and kids club.
To bring these revitalizations to life, the property’s owners tapped a team of designers and builders including 84 Lumber, Martik Brothers, Moncur Design Associates, Gensler, and King & Partners.
Guests arrive at the Chateau through a grand porte-cochère before entering the lobby, where they are greeted by an elegant roaring fireplace adorned with Macchia Oro polished marble.
The reimagined space embodies historic garden romance and opulence of 18th-century France thanks to striking crystals, veined marbles, and textural velvet fabrics paired with floral motifs, intricate detailing, and ambient lighting.
Meanwhile, the hotel’s 124 guestrooms are rendered in pastel tones, marble accents, and glittering chandeliers.
The Chateau Club Floor, exclusive to guests with rooms on the fifth floor, houses 17 rooms, including the 2,200-square-foot Presidential Suite, which features two bedrooms and a palatial private patio.
The adjacent Club Lounge is adorned with hues of soft taupe, pale blues, warm golds, and fresh whites. Here, central seating and display tables are crowned by a trio of chandeliers suspended from a coffered ceiling.
The opulence of the Chateau extends to its reimagined F&B offerings, featuring the Lobby Bar with its striking scalloped counter and the Bleu Room, a blue-toned space dedicated to traditional tea service.
Nightcap, the resort’s destination venue for craft cocktails and cabaret entertainment, exudes vintage glamour.
The space features a cabaret and dining room with velvet booths against a gilded backdrop; the Salon, a room enveloped in rich velvet upholstery, brass accents, and animal motifs; and the Smoking Lounge, designed with a deep pink palette, gold accents, and a centerpiece chandelier by glass artist Dale Chihuly.
