In the bustling hub of Midtown Manhattan, Times Square has been invigorated by the launch of Hilton’s newest lifestyle brand. Housed in the 46-story entertainment and hospitality tower TSX Broadway, the 661-room Tempo by Hilton New York Times Square—a collaboration between Hilton, L&L Holding Company, and Fortress Investment Group—channels the unmatchable energy of the Big Apple.
Crafted by Wimberly Interiors (interior designer) and Mancini Duffy (architect of record), the 36-floor hotel integrates the area’s lively atmosphere via floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing panoramic city views. Inside, the property presents functional and inviting spaces for guests to either gear up or wind down. This includes a dedicated “Get Ready Zone,” spacious bathrooms featuring Apotheke bath products, and a tranquil sleep environment.
“The journey begins as guests arrive from the heartbeat of Times Square into the ground floor lobby that lifts you up to the Sky Lobby, 11 stories above the square,” says WATG creative director and associate principal Josh Held, lead designer on the project. “The soaring volume of the lobby leads you on a journey from guest arrival through the café and onto the centerpiece bar, all connected to Times Square’s largest open-air terrace with views to panoramically explore in every direction.”
The hotel’s interior design pays careful attention to wellbeing with public areas adorned with artistic touches aimed to inspire. The 11th-floor open sky lobby will also host communal work spaces, a fitness center, and a signature hydration station. Onsite dining options will include a signature restaurant, a bar and lounge, and an outdoor dining terrace.
“Public spaces such as the lobby, café, and [signature restaurant] Highball are all punctuated with custom light arches, dimensional form ceilings, and layered spaces that invite the guests to transition through the day, from arrival to café to cocktails—each an experiential highlight,” Held adds.
