The Global Ambassador recently opened its doors in Phoenix, Arizona, marking restaurateur Sam Fox’s first foray into luxury hotels. Designed in collaboration with Testani Design Troupe, the new 141-key hotel showcases Fox’s meticulous attention to detail and a design narrative inspired by his global travels.
“Opening the Global Ambassador is a defining moment in my career and one that I’m extremely proud of,” says Fox, founder of Author & Edit Hospitality, the developer, owner, and manager of the hotel. “While the hotel’s influence is global in scale, its roots run deep in the surrounding community. The Global Ambassador is a convergence of hospitality, wellness, culinary, and culture—it has become my legacy project.”
The interiors boast a harmonious fusion of materials, including honed marble, wood-plank flooring, wood-adorned columns, and patinated metal ceiling panels. This textural interplay creates a warm, refined ambiance that permeates throughout the property.
Reminiscent of a European pied-à-terre, each guestroom combines sophistication and comfort via white oak hardwood flooring, custom walnut millwork, textured woven area rugs, leather benches, elegant lighting, and works by local artist Michael Carson. Bathrooms are outfitted with rich marble counters, French botanical wallcoverings, and brass accents. Accommodations also feature a meticulously curated in-room bar.
Lighting also takes centerstage at the Global Ambassador, transforming the hotel into a captivating spectacle after dusk. Every area is choreographed with precision, turning the entire structure into a theatrical work of art that guides guests from one space to another.
