The Hoxton has announced plans to grow its European footprint with the rollout of five properties in 2022 and 2023. On the heels of its recently opened hotel in Rome, the brand will add new units in Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, London, and Vienna. All of the forthcoming outposts will feature designs by Hoxton collaborator Ennismore Design Studio and signature amenities like the Apartment meeting and events space.
“It’s been an incredibly difficult time for everyone, especially those in hospitality, and for all of those who, like us, love to travel and discover new places. Community has never felt more important, and we look forward to sharing Hoxton with more people in some of our favorite cities in Europe,” says the Hoxton CEO and founder Sharan Pasricha. “Our exciting plans for the next few years reflect our optimism for the bounceback of travel and commitment to the industry we love.”
The Hoxton, Barcelona is set to open in spring 2022 in the traditional Catalan neighborhood of Poblenou. The hotel will house a sprawling bar, restaurant, and terrace on its ground floor, as well as a shaded rooftop taqueria and pool. A total of 240 light and airy guestrooms will be available, with larger accommodations equipped for long-term stays featuring a lounge space and a kitchenette.
Summer 2022 will herald the arrival of the Hoxton, Berlin as well as the Hoxton, Brussels. Located in the Charlottenburg section of West Berlin, the former will draw inspiration from its bustling cultural surrounding across its 239 accommodations and amenities like an open lobby, bar, and restaurant. Housed within the former European headquarters of IBM, the latter will be home to 1970s-inspired guestrooms, as well s a lofty, double-height lobby, bar and restaurant, and a rooftop bar and terrace. The Hoxton’s coworking brand, Working From_ will also span five floors of the Brussels hotel, complete with open desks, studios, breakout spaces, and communal pantries.
Opening in winter 2022, the Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush will be the brand’s fourth unit in its hometown of London. Local art and design collaborations will punctuate the 237-room hotel, drawing upon the eclectic section of the city to instill a vibrant sense of place. An open lobby, central bar, retro-pastel restaurant, terrace, courtyard, and retail space will also be featured onsite. Finally, the Hoxton, Vienna will debut in a modernist structure, which once served as the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, located in Stadtpark. Beyond the spacious lobby, coffee bar, restaurant, terrace, rooftop bar and pool, and basement speakeasy, the 196-room hotel will offer an events auditorium—a first for the brand.
