The Manner has opened as a 97-key luxury hotel in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood.

The Apartment, a guests-only lounge
The new concept from Standard International—the brainchild of executive chairman Amar Lalvani—is design-led, discreet, and refined, a step up from the hotel company’s signature lifestyle properties. The name is derived from the particular manner of hospitality that feels more like staying at a friend’s house than at a hotel.
Designed by Milan-based Hannes Peer Architecture, in partnership with the Standard’s in-house design studio, the Manner boasts a layered design marked by an orchestration of materials, rich colors, and varied textures. Custom art and sculptural pieces are also found throughout.
The rooms and suites are fashioned with warm color palettes, full-length mirrored walls, marble bathrooms, integrated audio systems, and custom chandeliers.
The Manner also houses three distinct dining options: The Otter, a seafood-driven restaurant; Sloane’s, a chic second-floor cocktail bar; and the Apartment, a guests-only lounge developed with James Beard Award nominee Alex Stupak.
