BD Hotels, an independent hotel operator helmed by Richard Born and Ira Drukier, has announced its first new-build project outside of New York. Set to open Q4 2026, the Nora Hotel will be situated within West Palm Beach’s vibrant 40-acre Nora District.
With interiors from New York-based Gachot and architecture led by Stantec, the 201-key hotel will draw inspiration from the legacy of 20th-century architect Addison Mizner, whose Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial Revival aesthetics shaped the area’s iconic style.
Reflecting Mizner’s influence, the Nora Hotel will feature intricate tilework, arched passageways, and natural materials that echo the character of Palm Beach Island across the bridge. BD Hotels cofounder Richard Born took a hands-on approach to crafting this homage—layering printed images of Mizner’s notable façades over the hotel’s plans to ensure the vision was true to the surrounding neighborhood.
On the ground floor, guests will savor classic French fare at Pastis, restaurateur Stephen Starr iconic brasserie concept.
The rooftop will feature a pool, garden dining area, lounge, two bars, and private cabanas, while a traditional loggia and lush garden will wrap the hotel’s base to create a serene escape.
BD Hotels’ portfolio also includes New York properties like Hotel Chelsea, the Bowery, the Jane, and more.
