The Surrey, a Corinthia Hotel has opened on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, marking Corinthia Hotels’ first venture in North America.
The 16-story property—featuring interiors by Martin Brudnizki and a grand façade restored by Schwartz & Gross—offers 70 guestrooms, 30 suites, and 14 private residences. It is also home to the Surrey Spa and New York’s first outpost of restaurant Casa Tua.
The Surrey’s place-setting design
The hotel’s interior design—characterized by bespoke furniture, Murano chandeliers, and vintage-inspired windows—blends Upper East Side elegance with modern luxury. Emphasis is placed on texture, from the cabinetry to the walls, to create a rich, sensory experience throughout the property.
The guestrooms were crafted around a selection of color schemes, from soft blue to spring green and rich terracotta, to evoke the elevated ambiance of an Upper East Side residence. Meanwhile, the property’s four signature themed suites are inspired by the bridges of Central Park.
The hotel also partnered with Paris-based VISTO to curate an art collection that reflects New York’s rich artistic legacy via works by both emerging and established artists.
Casa Tua arrives in New York
Casa Tua, a Italian and Mediterranean restaurant founded by Miky Grendene and his wife Leticia Herrera-Grendene, joins the Surrey as its dedicated F&B partner.
Envisioned by Italian architect Michele Bönan—known for his work at Casa Tua’s Miami, Paris, and Aspen locations—the space celebrates handmade Italian craftsmanship, featuring custom Italian furnishings and an art collection handselected by Miky and Leticia.
Luxury residences at the Surrey
The Surrey Residences, developed by Reuben Brothers, offer exclusive living on the property’s upper floors.
The two- and three-bedroom apartments, including a duplex penthouse with terraces, provide unparalleled views and access to all onsite amenities, including private roof terrace access and dining at Casa Tua.
