Los Angeles-based Viceroy Hotel Group has revealed its plans for a new Chicago location, scheduled to open in 2017. The brand, along with development company Convexity Properties, will open its new hotel in the Gold Coast neighborhood—one of the city’s most rapidly developing destinations.
“Viceroy recognizes Chicago is a vibrant market and a great destination for our expansion,” says Bill Walshe, CEO of Viceroy Hotel Group. “We are extremely privileged to collaborate with Convexity Properties team to create exceptional and inspiring experiences for our guests in such a highly sought-after location.”
Designers at Goettsch Partners and TAL Studio are working to maintain and blend the existing four-story transient hotel and its original, historic elements into a new 18-story, 180-room tower. Elements to be preserved include the building’s brick structure and terracotta façade.
Additional forthcoming Viceroy properties are slated to open in Algarve, Cartagena, Bodrum, and Dubai.
