The Delta One Lounge is now open at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Located in Terminal 4 between Concourses A and B, the sweeping 39,000-plus-square-foot lounge—larger than any Delta Sky Club—is designed to make first-class travelers forget they’re in an airport.
The lounge nods to notable locations throughout New York. The ceiling and fluted glass in the Bar Lounge, for instance, is inspired by the gold leaf ceiling and chandeliers of Radio City Music Hall.
In the Market dining area, fan-shaped marble mosaic tiles pay tribute to famed New York brasseries and white marble counters recall retro delicatessen food counters.
A penny-round ceiling over the counter is a hat-tip to the original JFK terminal, designed by famed architect Eero Saarinen, while a light fixture suspended above the dining room takes cues from the overlapping strands of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Delta’s recently announced onboard partnership with Missoni is reflected across the lounge. Accent pillows, vases, and coffee table books bear the Italian fashion house’s signature zigzag pattern.
The Delta One Lounge also features a 140-seat brasserie restaurant with three-course meal service created by Restaurant Associates and Union Square Events.
Additional lounge amenities include a designated wellness area equipped with nine reservable relaxation pods. Adjacent to the wellness area is the Serenity Lounge, a tranquil space with specialty lighting that helps regulate the body’s circadian rhythm.
Guests also have access to shower suites, individual soundproof booths, and a lush outdoor oasis with a retractable roof and views of the JFK airfield.
