Work-focused members club the Malin has unveiled its third New York location in the West Village.
Housed within the historic American Railway Supply Building on Charles Street, the new 10,000-square-foot outpost perpetuates the brand’s ethos of elevating a members club atmosphere with hospitality-style amenities. “Our spaces are meant to put our guests at ease: free from distraction, with an onsite team they know will take care of them, and beautiful, comfortable surroundings designed to inspire their work,” says the Malin founder Ciaran McGuigan. “We want our members to feel confident that, when coming to The Malin, they are positioned for a satisfying and successful workday.”
The building’s ceilings and walls were stripped back to reveal original wood beams and brickwork, respectively, while a hidden industrial yellow door now serves as a focal point. Custom millwork remains a signature at the Malin West Village, fashioned akin to train cars in honor of the site’s legacy. Marble, travertine, velvet, bouclé, and poured Irish crystal round out the opulent palette.
The first Malin club to feature multiple floors, the location recognizes the building’s history by dubbing its parlor level the Gallery and the garden level the Studio. Its legacy as a haven for creatives, like artist Jennifer Bartlett, is also recognized in the Bartlett Library, an intimate space that touts some of her artwork. Lounge areas, private desks, private offices, meeting rooms, a kitchen, library, and an outdoor courtyard all accommodate a range of guest needs as well.
The Malin’s other clubs are located in SoHo and Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
