Eco-Solutions: March-April 2019
An interpretation of Norwegian modernist Bendt Winge’s classic, 1960s-era R-48 chair, S-1500 from Snøhetta, a result of two years of research, is made entirely from recycled plastic sourced from the fish farming industry in Norway. Worn-out fish nets, ropes, and pipes compose the chair, with a subframe made of recycled steel. The components are processed, and then grinded into a granulate that is injected into the framework.
