Populus Seattle
The details: When it opened, Populus Seattle introduced a dynamic art collection of more than 300 pieces curated by ARTXIV that pays homage to its surroundings and complements the hotel’s biophilic design by Curioso and architecture from Miller Hull. The works were created during a residency of 35 artists in the neighboring Manufacturers Building. Highlights include Przemysław Blejzyk’s Garden Sequence 070624 (shown), blending traditional landscapes with digital-inspired abstraction; Kimberly Trowbridge’s Night Forest, capturing woodland at dusk; and Joe Feddersen’s Canoe Journey, fusing indigenous motifs with modern urban symbols. Each artwork is available for acquisition and sales fund new commissions. “It’s not just a collection; it’s a living program that grows with the city,” says Dominic Nieri, director of ARTXIV, a subsidiary of Urban Villages. “That constant renewal is what makes it truly special.”
