Kimpton Santo San Antonio – Riverwalk
The details: Designed by KTGY, Kimpton Santo San Antonio – Riverwalk reimagines an 1850s German schoolhouse into a destination where art and design seamlessly meet. The hotel’s art program by Kevin Barry Art Advisory (KBAA) extends across guestrooms, suites, and public areas. “These relationships are at the core of how we approach art storytelling, bringing together craft, culture, and community in a way that feels genuine and meaningful,” says KBAA president Allison Barry. The collection draws from traditional crafts like ceramics and weaving while layering in modern interpretations. One standout work is a suspended textile installation by Doerte Weber above the lobby bar (shown). Woven around four directional themes—Hispanic heritage, natural landscape, German roots, and cultural diversity—the piece serves as both a centerpiece and cultural touchstone.
