At a glance: Powered by 100-percent solar energy and cooling techniques that eliminate the need for air conditioning, Hotel Terrestre is the newest ambitious venture from Grupo Habita. Its 14 villas, fashioned out of natural materials like concrete, clay, and sand, blend into the Oaxacan jungle landscape and sport outdoor bathrooms and terraces with hammocks and private pools. Inside the villas, slatted wood doors and windows replace glass, offering views onto private gardens. The chilled-out vibe extends to the sculptural seven-chamber hammam and bathing pool flanked by stepped brick walls.
