Maroma, A Belmond Hotel, Riviera Maya, Mexico

Slated for a May debut, the revamped Tara Bernerd-designed Maroma on Mexico’s Caribbean Coast will pay homage to Mayan culture via the wellness treatments at the first Guerlain Spa in Latin America and the preserved white stucco buildings, which uphold the notion of sacred geometry. Indoor-outdoor accommodations—a mix of 72 guestrooms, suites, and villas scattered across a private swath of sand—will be bolstered with handblown glass chandeliers, painted clay pots, and Saltillo floor tiles made by Mexican craftspeople.
