The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Resorts Collection, Los Olivos, California

A one-time stagecoach stop in the late 19th century, the Inn at Mattei’s Tavern is a landmark on California’s Central Coast. When doors open this February, guests will be invited to the iconic Tavern building and historic cottages, which have been painstakingly restored, showcasing exposed beams and revived wainscoting. They are complemented by new two-story buildings that contain the 67 clapboard guestrooms, painted white and enlivened with local artwork.
