Bedecked in original Maltese balconies, the Romègas—slated to open this September with a design from Camilleri Paris Mode—will sit inside a centrally located 500-year-old palazzo first designed for Mathurin Romegas, a naval commander and Grand Master of Malta. For more than five years, a team of local craftspeople restored the home, tending to the handcarved stone façades along with the classic terrazzo flooring and wood paneling in the 23 guestrooms that will juxtapose the rooftop pool and bar.
