Over two days in May via Zoom, our 10 judges carefully considered nearly 800 entries to select the 103 finalists and 34 winners of the 17th annual HD Project Awards. The esteemed panel took into consideration design innovation, function, sustainability, purpose, and overall impressiveness of these entries (which opened between December of 2019 and March of 2021).
This year’s projects portion spans 27 categories, including Visual Identity, Hybrid Spaces, Camps + Lodges, and Suites. We introduced the New Brand Launch category, which honors hospitality concepts that have at least one location opened within our timeframe and have one or more in the works, and we also saw the return of the Special Judges’ Award for Small Key Hotel. Both speak to the direction the industry is headed and what we have to look forward to.
