Hospitality Design’s Stacy Shoemaker Rauen has been named editor in chief/associate publisher. She will continue to spearhead editorial direction and event programming in her new position. Shoemaker Rauen has been with the HD brand since 2001.
“Stacy has steadily grown in her role at HD, from a staff member to a true hospitality industry leader. She is a sought-after hospitality expert who has been a thought leader in the market and has introduced a number of new innovative HD events, which serve the industry,” says Joe Randall, executive vice president of Emerald Expositions, HD’s parent company. “She has worked closely with leading design professionals to develop solutions for the market and has additionally created content for a variety of HD brands including the magazine, HD Expo, HD NextGen, and CitySCENE. In her new position, Stacy will continue to listen to the industry and create solutions to propel both HD and the hospitality market into the future.”
Promotions have also been announced for Emerald Expositions’ editorial staff at design:retail. Longtime executive editor Alison Embrey Medina has been elevated to the role of associate publisher/editor in chief, while former senior editor Jessie Dowd will now serve as executive editor. Medina and Dowd have each been with the brand for more than a decade.
