California-based lifestyle hospitality company Proper Hospitality has announced the appointment of Arash Azarbarzin as its new president and COO. In his new role Azarbarzin will oversee the Avalon and Proper brands, playing a pivotal role in property launches over the next 18 months, including the San Francisco Proper Hotel, the Downtown LA Proper Hotel, and the Austin Proper Hotel & Residences.
“I have known and watched Arash grow over the last 12 years and have been consistently impressed with his ability to develop brands that resonate with a discerning international audience,” says Brad Korzen, cofounder and CEO of Proper Hospitality.
Azarbarzin, a founding member and former president of sbe Hotel Group, holds executive and management experience with major luxury brands such as St. Regis and Four Seasons.
“Brad, Brian, and Alex have created and grown world-class hospitality brands before. They know what it takes to be successful and are absolutely committed to doing it again, and even better,” Azarbarzin says. “They already had a great team and a robust pipeline in place when I joined. It will be my job to help them fully realize their vision for the Proper and Avalon brands.”
