Set within the historic whaling village of Sag Harbor on Long Island’s East End, Faraway Sag Harbor offers a fresh interpretation of Hamptons hospitality. The boutique retreat from Blue Flag Capital builds on the character of the property, formerly Baron’s Cove, while replacing its traditional maritime aesthetic with a more layered, residentially informed expression.
“We wanted to take the existing old-school nautical [look] of expected blue-and-white stripes, dark lacquered finishes, and dark wood floors, and refresh it with a softer, more feminine touch,” says Jenny Bukovec, founder of her eponymous New York-based studio. The result is an inviting escape that balances heritage with contemporary comfort through tactile materials, muted tones, and thoughtful details. “The design works well as it truly feels like the Hamptons,” adds Brad Guidi, Blue Flag cofounder and chief development officer. “We work hard to make each location feel unique to its geography.”
