Japanese restaurant Zuma is set to expand its hospitality footprint with the launch of its first-ever lifestyle destination next week. Coinciding with the brand’s 20th anniversary, Zuma Mykonos was conceived to complement the local vernacular and seamlessly transition from day to night.
“I am very proud of everything we have achieved with Zuma over the last 20 years,” says Zuma founder said Rainer Becker. “Our focus is now on the next 20 years and the evolution of Zuma. We will continue opening Zuma restaurants in cosmopolitan cities as we have done, but we look forward to developing this new lifestyle concept in luxury destinations to offer our guests new, multi-purpose locations to explore. Having had two successful seasons on the island, Mykonos is the perfect place to launch the next phase of Zuma.”
Set between classic whitewashed villas stretching up a cliffside above the Aegean Sea, Zuma Mykonos comprises a restaurant, lounge and bar, and a sleek infinity pool populated by loungers and daybeds. Palm trees and pergolas provide the outdoor eatery and DJ area with shade, while a perimeter wall will embody a traditional stacking stone design as well. Regionally sourced granite will adorn many surfaces to further inject an authentic tactility to the space.
