Gin Design Group has unveiled Haii Keii, a new Japanese fusion concept in Houston that blurs the line between dining and visual storytelling.
Spanning 3,000 square feet with an additional 1,000-square-foot patio, Haii Keii’s design draws inspiration from Ridley Scott’s sci-fi masterpiece Blade Runner and the dramatic intensity of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill.
A cinematic journey
Guests enter through a glowing red glass door, where metallic walls shimmer under a moody blue glow, setting the stage for discovery. A long, dark hallway, flanked by etched lucite screens illuminated from within, builds anticipation as it leads to the two-story dining room.
Inside, larger-than-life shadow projections dance across illuminated Shoji screens on the upper level, offering glimpses of a mysterious world hidden beyond.
At the heart of the dining room, an inverted eight-foot-tall Bonsai tree light sculpture commands attention with its serene and surreal presence.
Design details are layered to further enhance the sensory immersion. Crimson ropes, spanning 4,000 linear feet, cascade dramatically over black leather booths, while a staircase is lined with glowing lucite balusters that amplify the futuristic atmosphere.
