Marriott International has announced the launch of its newest boutique resort, Alaia Belize, Autograph Collection on Belize’s Ambergris Caye island. Spread across more than 20 acres and home to more than 1,000 feet of beachfront, the new eco-luxury development marks Marriott’s debut in the nation.
Alaia Belize channels its stimulating location in the historic town of San Pedro with a design from Brazilian architect Debora Aguiar that was conceived to invite touch and evoke a connection to nature. Woven textures, natural fibers, and notes of greenery compose the warm ambiance of the resort.
“Alaia was designed as an eco-luxury hotel, where nature was determinant in our choices, whether in natural materials—in the various textures of fibers, stones, woods, fabrics—as in the reuse of stones, woods, and coatings in general,” says Aguiar. “Special areas are designed to stimulate and instigate the five senses, from the reception to the lobby, from the apartment to the circulations and from the beach bar to the spa.”
Amenities include a dramatic, suspended rooftop pool and lounge, which amplifies a one-of-a-kind luxury while also bonding guests to the tropical backdrop. The Vista Rooftop also serves as a key F&B option alongside concepts like the beachside Deck and Beach Bar, the Terrace Bar, the upscale Piano Bar, and the signature Sea Salt.
In addition to 71 stylish condominiums and beachfront villas, 155 design-driven guestrooms and suites further convey the inspiration of nature. Ranging from studios to three-bedroom units, accommodations feature a natural color scheme complementary to the surrounding ocean views.
