Lifestyle hotel group art’otel, owned by Amsterdam-based PPHE Hotel Group, has opened the doors to its first location in Italy.
The art’otel Rome Piazza Sallustio blends immersive art experiences with destination dining. Designed by Eyal Shoan of studio Digital Space and Roman artist Pietro Ruffo, the interior design take guests on a journey through the multi-layered history of the Eternal City.
The property features 99 guestrooms and 11 suites. The rooms each showcase Ruffo’s signature works—making the hotel the largest permanent collection of his work to date. Many of the accommodations offer private balconies and large terraces as well.
Dining concepts at art’otel Rome Piazza Sallustio
Bathed in year-round sunshine, the ground-floor terrace is an ideal aperitivo spot, featuring a striking 65-foot tile wall, created by Ruffo, that maps Rome’s constellations. Open from lunch until late, the space serves as a vibrant social hub with DJ programming.
Guests can also look forward to a lively experience at YEZI Restaurant & Bar, a fine-dining Pan-Asian concept inspired by traditional Asian tea houses.
Art and amenities
An onsite art gallery will host dynamic exhibitions from both renowned and emerging artists, including a solo show by Ruffo.
Through the art’beat program, the new art’otel location will offer an ever-changing lineup of exhibitions, artist residencies, workshops, and cultural events—allowing guests to engage with local makers, explore the property’s collection, or create their own.
Additional hotel amenities include a fitness center with advanced TechnoGym equipment, a traditional wood-heated sauna, and meeting spaces.
