Boutique hotel brand citizenM is launching a fully contactless guest experience across all 19 of its international properties. Guests will now be able to open guestroom doors, create keycards, and even scan passport information all via the company’s mobile smartphone app. The updated app is one of several upgrades citizenM is implementing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to F&B orders and check-in/check-out, the citizenM app will also provide visitors with local attractions that are within walking distance of the property to ensure that social distancing and safety remain paramount. Elevated sanitation standards were also quickly adopted by the brand. Their one-room model is conceived without carpeting or bedspreads, minimal surfaces, and they’re ventilated with 100-percent fresh air. Signage to promote social distancing will also be adopted and electrostatic sprayers are available to sanitize luggage.
