Hilton has announced the launch of its Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand in Italy with the opening of the Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia. Spread across a swath of picturesque coastline overlooking Chia Bay, the secluded 107-room resort was crafted to maximize the idyllic natural wonder of the setting with a design from Milan-based Studio Marco Piva. Natural materials and neutral hues reinforce the simple beauty of the Mediterranean setting while instilling a sense of calm.
“Sardinian culture permeates the entire hotel, inviting guests to fully experience the location’s cultural background, yet offering guests renewed, as well as brand new experiences and services,” says architect Marco Piva. “The spaces of the new Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia have been carefully designed to accommodate different social situations—intimate or convivial, family or business, but they all reflect the theme of relaxation and wellbeing, enhancing it with furnishings exclusively selected to ensure comfort, with a Mediterranean-style ‘domestic touch’ and the typically Italian philosophy of warm and welcoming hospitality, recalling the pleasure of feeling at home, yet in a paradisiac place, enveloped by nature.”
Locally sourced materials like limestone rock inform a sophisticated and expansive color palette of natural tones, while details like perforated terracotta walls enliven public spaces from reception to the onsite restaurant, La Terrazza, with tactility. An additional F&B concept, Sa Mesa, immerses guests in local flora with seating installed within an olive garden. Niches integrated into the masonry showcases the work of local artisans, further conveying authenticity across the resort. Finally, the Conrad Spa provides an atmosphere of tranquility, complete with a rooftop solarium.
