New York-based dash design is leading the renovations of the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino.
Updates to 259 guestrooms at the resort’s Ocean Suites were completed last December, joining 297 newly redesigned rooms at the adult exclusive Marina Hotel, which debuted in December 2013.
As part of the multimillion-dollar project, dash design also completed renovations to the resort’s public areas and restaurants, including the L.G. Smith’s Steak & Chop House; Papagayo restaurant on Renaissance Island; and the Blue Bar. The Marina Hotel lobby flooring also received a modern update, and the reception and concierge areas are currently the design process. Authentic Aruban elements were incorporated into the design.
“It was an honor to be selected for a project of this magnitude based upon our prior work in the hospitality sector and our unwavering commitment to strategic, unique design that is customized to the specific property’s brand and goals,” says David Ashen, principal and founder of dash design. “The end result is a colorful, eye-catching and immersive guest experience like none other—and one that speaks to the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino’s mission to marry tropical retreat with urban chic.”
Yachts inspired the design, and highlights include polished walnut and nickel furnishings; an L-shaped sofa; and a large-scale starburst carpet evoking the sunlight on the sea. Bathrooms feature a spa-like décor and are finished with white quartz countertops, polished nickel, and a blue tile accent wall, complementing white porcelain tiles, backlit mirrors, and oversized showers.
