Crafted by Todd-Avery Lenahan of TAL-Studio, the Four Seasons Hotel Lāna’I at Koele, A Sensei Retreat reflects a holistic and experiential interpretation of luxury.
Located beyond lush gardens, the lobby is flooded with natural light, while the Great Room is outfitted with an 80-foot-long glass wall. Further, a large mobile that recalls the sun and clouds is suspended above the space to infuse a sense of balance. Each of the property’s 96 guestrooms and suites is also attached to private balconies that tether the chambers to the outdoors.
The Sensei by Nobu Restaurant is housed within a glass pavilion at the threshold of a reflective koi pond and includes a 16-person communal table. Japanese design influences are reflected in the hotel spa, which will be home to massage rooms, private plunge pools, and a garden. Rich teak panels adorn the interior along with artwork selected to complement the sounds and scents of nature that abound across the hale.
