Four Seasons and Cisneros Real Estate are in the midst of developing the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia, a 60-acre luxury destination situated along the Playa Esmeralda beachfront.
The project, slated to open in early 2026, combines Four Seasons’ globally renowned hospitality and service with Cisneros’ decades of business and investment in the Dominican Republic, Latin America, and the U.S.
Designed by Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld, the property—comprising a 95-key resort and 25 three- and four-bedroom branded residences—will feature a tropical modernist design with a focus on sustainability.
The design aims to qualify for LEED certification, placing emphasis on sustainable construction and operations, including waste and water management, air quality, and greenhouse gas emissions.
Isay Weinfeld’s low-impact concept will draw inspiration from native materials and colonial-era towns with the use of Coralina limestone, brick, and stucco to tell the story of the country’s history.
The resort will transition seamlessly from indoors to outdoors, emphasizing open spaces, passive cooling, and lush landscaping made of non-invasive native species. The outdoors will also carry into guestrooms, which will boast private terraces, interior gardens, and green spaces.
Apart from the 95 rooms and suites, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will offer a range of amenities and facilities, like event spaces, wellness facilities, sports areas, and more.
Various restaurant and bars options will featured onsite—from a specialty restaurant and beachside grill to a ceviche bar and coffee shop, and more.
