Mazzarò Sea Palace, a VRetreats Collection Hotel in Sicily, has completed a major transformation of its public spaces, restaurants, and panoramic terraces. The project follows last year’s refurbishment, which included the resort’s rooms and suites, led by architecture and design studio De.Tales.
The concept draws from the intimacy of classic seaside retreats. Throughout the hotel, soft lines, elegant materials, and handcrafted details guide guests toward the sea. The redesigned lobby anchors the arrival experience: open and luminous, it frames uninterrupted views of Mazzarò Bay through natural textures and soft light. Handpainted tiles by local artisans and custom lighting inspired by traditional fishermen’s lanterns bring the spirit of Sicily indoors with restrained sophistication.
New social destinations
At the center of the transformation is the debut of the Velvet Panoramic Terrace, a chic open-air dining and lounge space positioned directly above the bay. The terrace introduces a new evening concept built around a refined take on traditional Italian pizza.
Meanwhile, Armònia restaurant seats guests just steps from the shoreline. The space features Sicilian-inspired flooring, custom wallpapers, and handcrafted ceramics executed in traditional artisanal techniques, while its menu centers on authentic island flavors.
For fine dining, Blum has been fully reimagined. The restaurant now includes an intimate 12-seat terrace alongside an interior that celebrates its nautical surroundings through layered colors, textures, and luminous accents. The adjacent Blum Room, an elegant private dining space for up to 20 guests, features sophisticated furnishings and handcrafted ceramic details.

The Almarè Bar has also been refreshed as the resort’s social hub for aperitivi. Its bespoke cocktail menu, titled “From the Abyss to Olympus,” draws inspiration from Sicily’s maritime heritage and mythology, while interiors reference traditional ceramics and the movement of the sea through sculptural design elements.
Rounding out the F&B offerings, a new Enoteca provides a more contemplative experience: curated wine labels, private tastings, and sommelier-led storytelling, all set against coastal vistas.
Coastal living at Mazzarò Sea Palace
Beyond its dining spaces, the resort offers a panoramic swimming pool, wellness center, and a private shoreline where custom furnishings and fabrics blend into the Mediterranean landscape.
The hotel’s 70 guestrooms and suites, including eight suites with private pools, all feature sea views and private terraces overlooking the Sicilian coastline. Interiors are defined by vaulted forms, organic geometries, and open layouts that maximize natural light.
