Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is set to manage a new luxury resort and branded residences on Puerto Rico’s Boquerón Bay in Cabo Rojo.
The Mandarin Oriental Esencia, Puerto Rico will be a part of Esencia, a coastal community owned and developed by Reuben Brothers and Three Rules Capital.
The property, expected to open in 2028, will be designed by São Paulo-based architecture firm Studio MK27.
A range of accommodations
Nestled amidst rich biodiversity, the property will offer guests and residents an immersive experience of Puerto Rico’s landscapes, including beaches, lagoons, and protected mangroves.
It will feature 106 guestrooms and suites with a balcony, terrace, or private garden. Select suites will include plunge pools, while all villas will have private pools.
An exclusive collection of 83 residential villas will be dotted across Esencia’s beach, hillside, and cliffs. In addition, a series of six-story boutique buildings, built into the natural landscape, will house approximately 200 private residences.
Amenities at Mandarin Oriental Esencia
The hotel will offer an array of amenities including five dining destinations, a beach club, a poolside restaurant and bar, and a sophisticated lounge bar.
Another key highlight of the resort will be a Spa at Mandarin Oriental, an expansive sanctuary offering a range of wellness, beauty, and massage treatments. The dedicated wellness space will also include a beauty salon and a fitness center complete an outdoor lap pool.
