Marriott International is gearing up to debut two luxury tented safari camps in Kenya: the Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp and JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp, in partnership with Lazizi Mara Limited and Lazizi Solio Limited, respectively.
The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp
Scheduled to open in August, the Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp will be nestled in the Masai Mara National Reserve, a prime location for viewing wildlife and the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles journey from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara each year.
The camp will offer 20 tented suites, including a four-bedroom presidential suite, each equipped with a separate living area, private plunge pool, and both indoor and outdoor showers.
Multiple dining options will be offered onsite, including a multi-cuisine restaurant with an extensive wine cellar, a stargazing sky deck, and an authentic boma. The camp will also include a spa, wellness center, outdoor gym, swimming pool, discovery hub, and photography studio.
JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp
Set to open in early 2026, the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp will be located between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains, within a 45,000-acre game reserve and the 19,000-acre Solio Ranch Conservancy.
The camp will feature 20 tented units, including a pair of two-bedroom suites with private plunge pools.
Guests will enjoy wellness spaces, four dining experiences, including a sky deck venue, and a spa.
The property will also boast a swimming pool, fitness center, conservation house, horse barn, and animal-viewing hide.
Conservation and community
Both camps will emphasize sustainability, utilizing eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient infrastructure, to minimize environmental impact.
In addition, Marriott plans to engage with local communities through job creation, educational initiatives, and wildlife conservation efforts, ensuring that tourism benefits extend beyond the camps themselves.
