Moliving Inc. is looking to disrupt the hospitality market with the launch of the first energy-positive eco-resort in North America this year. Located in New York’s Hudson Valley, Moliving at Hurley House will comprise 60 mobile hotel suites—designed and engineered by the brand’s in-house—that can be easily installed and relocated with minimal impact on the environment. Plus, it exudes luxury and efficiency in equal measure.
“Our goal is to redefine travel by combining unmatched luxury and innovative experiences with sustainability and technology, all while delivering an uncompromised level of service,” says Hanna Bem, head of sustainability at Moliving. “Moliving aims to provide amazing incomparable experiences while reaching the goal for net zero travel.”
Moliving Suites total 45 feet in length and provide nearly 400 square feet of indoor space in addition to dual 120-square-foot outdoor decks attached to the front and rear. Wooden interiors aim to complement the soothing earth tones of its destinations. An oversized skylight in the spa-inspired bathroom will frame rarified views. The bedroom will be equipped to accommodate a king bed or two twin beds as well.
Constructed on a custom chassis, each unit can stand alone or join a group to form a multi-level retreat. Lithium battery technology is installed to store energy harvested from rooftop solar panels, while greywater recycling technology supports a reduction in water consumption.
Beyond Hurley House, Moliving is pursuing several partnerships with East Coast properties through 2022. Collaborations with getaways in California, Colorado, Nevada, and European locales like Portugal and Italy are also in the works.
