Perched on Sheybarah Island in the Red Sea, Shebara Resort blends the Saudi tradition of Hafawah, or genuine hospitality, with innovative design and a commitment to regenerative tourism.
Shebara Resort’s stainless steel villas
With architecture by Dubai-based Killa Design, the resort draws inspiration from the sea. Villas resemble a string of pearls that appear to rise from the water’s surface. Constructed from stainless steel, the overwater orbs reflect the sky and ocean, nearly vanishing into the horizon.
Cantilevered above the water to minimize environmental impact, the futuristic accommodation also provide space for regenerative coral gardening. Onshore, beachfront villas are nestled within native landscaping.
Superyacht-inspired interiors
Inside, a design concept by Studio Paolo Ferrari reflects the exterior architecture in what Ferrari describes as “naturalistic futurism,” which produces a guest experience that looks to the future while expressing a deeply human quality.
Interiors are punctuated by craft and tailored materials, such as cast glass, travertine, oak, and leather, to evoke the sense of being on an ultra-luxury superyacht.
Accommodations range from the one-bedroom Overwater Villas to the expansive Beachfront Royal Villa Ensemble, which combines the four-bedroom Royal Villa with three one-bedroom villas on a private islet, complete with its own yacht dock.
Dining options at Shebara Resort
The Shebara Resort’s five restaurants and bars feature interiors by Rockwell Group that draw inspiration from the flora and fauna of the Red Sea. Highlights include iki.roe, an interactive kitchen concept; seaside brasserie Lunara; Saria, a relaxed beachside venue; and the adults-only Solera.
The Spa at Shebara, also designed by Rockwell Group, incorporates earth tones and materials that contribute to a sense of balance and grounding. Five indoor treatment rooms, three outdoor cabanas, and an outdoor vitality pool are complemented by jacuzzis, steam, sauna, and salons.
