Dubbed as the “little brother” to the successful nature-infused and eco-conscious 1 Hotels brand, Treehouse Hotels from hotelier Barry Sternlicht and Starwood Capital Group will be a more approachable, laidback counterpart.
Like the rest of Sternlicht’s portfolio, the freedom-inspired brand will embrace sustainable protocols while channeling a nostalgic and adventurous childhood feeling and fostering friendship and community. “It’s all about getting back in touch with ourselves, with each other and remembering all the simple things that used to make us smile, giggle and embrace,” says Sternlicht.
Treehouse London will be the first outpost for the brand, which is set to open in late 2019 in the former Saint Georges Hotel. Located across the street from the BBC headquarters, the 95-room hotel will include 15 suites, a penthouse restaurant, and a rooftop bar boasting 360-degree skyline views. The LA-based Madera Group will operate the restaurant and bar, and a subsidiary of Starwood Capital Group will manage the hotels for the new brand on behalf of Starwood Capital Group.
