The Hoxton has announced plans to boost its footprint across Europe with the rollout of seven hotels through early 2024. The openings will kick off this December with the launch of its fourth London hotel, the Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush.
Next, the brand will next set its sights on Brussels for its Belgium debut in spring 2023. Housed across a Brutalist-style tower, the 198-room urban retreat will include an aesthetic reminiscent of the 1970s and amenities like a lofty double-height lobby, a bar and restaurant, and a rooftop bar and terrace. In addition to the Apartment meeting and events space, the Brussels outpost will include the brand’s flexible coworking concept, Working From_, spread across four floors of the building as well.
Also slated to open in spring 2023, the Hoxton will introduce its second Amsterdam property in the Eastern Docklands district. Ennismore Design Studio will partner with locally based Nicemakers to transform the iconic Lloyd Hotel into a 136-room destination. Original architectural hallmarks—including stained-glass windows to timber panels and tiling—will be accentuated alongside updates.
Summer 2023 will herald the opening of a location in the Charlottenburg section of West Berlin. Ennismore will again spearhead the transformation of an existing hotel into a 234-room property that nods to the 1920s. Art Nouveau-inspired forms will be contrasted with soft, expressive design details and faded tones, while an open lobby, cocktail bar, restaurant, café, and meeting and event spaces will round out onsite amenities.
The summer will come to a close with the completion of a project 10 townhouses in Edinburgh. Ennismore will draw upon block colors, subtle textures, and locally sourced materials to enliven the 211-room hotel, which will comprise a trio of three-bedroom Hox Homes as well as a gallery.
The year will conclude with the Hoxton’s debut in Vienna. Housed in a striking modernist structure from the 1950s, the 196-room Austria hotel will show off the restored heritage characteristics of the original design across areas like a spacious lobby and coffee bar, restaurant and terrace, rooftop bar and pool, and a basement speakeasy. The Apartment spaces will be accented by an events auditorium as well.
Finally, the Hoxton plans to kick off 2024 by overhauling Dublin’s former Central Hotel and its famed Library Bar into its first Irish property. The 129-room hotel will also feature an open lobby, café and wine bar, restaurant, and the brand’s first nightlife and music venue.
