The Hoxton is set to open its fourth property in London—and its 12th overall—this November. Situated in West London on the north end of Shepherd’s Bush green, the Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush will feature interiors by Ennismore Design Studio that reflect the eclectic flair of its diverse surroundings, with references to the symmetry and color palettes of retro transport design.
“From the iconic carriage shapes and retro aesthetics to the decorative glass chandeliers and pendants embellished with mixed metals, all design elements are meant to add both playfulness and glamour to the spaces,” says Ennismore design associate Charlie Cruickshank. “It was really important to us that the public spaces serve as an ode to the community and the local landscape, with local artists and bespoke manufacturers being showcased. We wanted the interiors to blend in with the rich culture of Shepherd’s Bush, paying homage to its diversity and celebrating its history as a theatrical and musical hub.”
The warm and inviting urban retreat will be distinguished by a variety of materials and motifs reflective of the neighborhood. Peachy hues will adorn the walls in contrast to dark timber and copper finishes.
Thai-American concept Chet’s will anchor the ground floor as a key social hub, complete with a central wraparound bar adorned with lacquered reeded timber detailing and topped with pink and gray marble. The brand’s meeting and events concept, the Apartment, will also open on the ground floor, comprising four rooms oriented around a communal pantry kitchen. Vintage furniture and local artwork will populate the convivial lobby as well.
The hotel’s 237 accommodations will span cozy, roomy, and snug bunk categories as well as a new hideout configuration, which is conceived like a basement crash pad with all of Hoxton’s signature fixtures. Each chamber will feature statement pieces like undulating headboards, scalloped-edge mirrors, terrazzo tables, and geometric flatweave rugs. Green metal dado rail will wrap full-height mirrors as well to further infuse elements of nearby architecture into the interior.
