In collaboration with Sage Hospitality, Seattle-based Dawson Design Associates and local architecture firm Gobbell Hays Partners have completed the $15.5 million restoration of the Union Station Hotel Nashville, a former 20th-century railway station.
Stylish, modern seating and original commissioned art inspired by Nashville’s music scene juxtapose the Romanesque architecture of the 125-room boutique hotel. Large-scale steel sculptures made from repurposed and recycled materials and three 10-foot-tall, custom chandeliers inject a sense of glamour and drama to the grand lobby’s monumental space.
Located in the heart of Music City, the property pays homage to its storied past by weaving contemporary details with original elements including barrel-vaulted ceilings, century-old stained glass and grand towers. Guestrooms nod to contemporary Nashville with exposed wood, cowhide headboards, custom iron chandeliers, and leather accents.
Onsite restaurant Carter’s is a dynamic two-sided bar that links the vibrancy of the lobby with the intimacy of the dining room using warm lighting, marble accents, suede, and polished cement. The property will offer 11,000 square feet of versatile spaces for meetings and functions, including the new two-story Azalean room, featuring windows framed in original Kentucky limestone.
